Trophy Elk Hunts
Beyond the magnificent high ranking bulls Record Horn has produced, it is overall the Record Horn Elk Hunting Experience. It's an experience like no other. The experience is everything, and it's what hunting is all about. Record Horn has spent the last 18 years creating the most unique and unrivaled Elk hunting experience in the nation, as our hunters will attest to. Unlike most Elk Ranches, our Bulls are turned out in June on our vast property that ranges from dense stands of poplar, to impenetrable spruce swamps, tall timber and rolling hills thick with mixed bush. Our Bulls are wild, and when you enter the front gate you are in the wilderness, you are in their domain, their home, and they live here and learn the fair chase property's and how to elude us hunters. There are huge 10 year old plus bulls on the property that we rarely see, and they get smart!
Our preserves are 100% forested with a wide diversity of mature timber, brush, springs, rolling hills, lakes, ponds and creeks. This diversity provides a very challenging hunt and a spectacular setting. The many wallows and dense, conifer timber give our bulls the distinction of having the darkest antler color available anywhere: a rich chocolate brown with highly polished tips. Hunters can expect a real hunting experience, a challenging Fair Chase hunt, and to see a lot of big bulls. But you will need to put your time in and call me, so we can guide you to your next "Trophy Bull Elk". Starting in 2017 we have changed our Ranch Elk Hunt to 350''-399'" and a whopping 400"-419", and now even a 420"-450", why, well our bulls are just too big! Our Guests have told us repeatedly that when shopping around they were looking for a truly amazing Monster Canadian Elk, our ranch has been the most consistent producer of impressive world record typical and non-typical trophies in North America for the price. What can one expect on the Ranch Elk Hunt, as all guys want a bull an inch smaller than the next size up! If I book will all the big ones be sold out? The reason we have it structured starting the 350" mark is some guys want slick typical bulls, while other guys just want big, and do not mind an extra point here and there. If its a typical bull you want you can expect to shoot a bull up to the 410" range, if you do not mind an extra point on the same size typical frame, then expect a 410" plus bull, that's how it works. If you are concerned that all the big bulls are sold out when you arrive, rest assured there will be lots in all classes at any time. The properties are so densely forested that we have to HUNT HARD for our elk, and its impossible to target one single bull. We offer three species of elk, the Rocky Mountain Elk, Roosevelt Elk, and Manitoban Elk. |
